The Rotunda - 2008

To many of us, The Rotunda WAS Bigwin Inn. At the least, it represented the many pleasant memories of our time at Bigwin. I'm sure that you, like myself, can recall walking through that stately building, and many times marvelling at it's immense, cavernous and somehow regal structure. I recall feeling somewhat priviledged just being there, there in that awe inspiring building wondering often, if any of the famous patrons of days-gone-by may have stood on the same spot as I then stood, or sat in the same chair, or . . . . .

I'm glad I have the memories but damn it, I really wish I had taken more photographs then, because it's almost all gone now.

A "Bigwin Inn web-friend" who wishes to remain anonymous, has sent me a few photographs which his friend took on their recent visit to the island.

There will be no commentary with the following photographs. Far better than I could ever describe, these photos tell their own story. Anyways, upon seeing them, we'll all be able to remember what was where, and if not exactly, no matter.

In your mind, walk through it again - ahhhh, the memories.

The fireplace in the photo above is shown as it was in 1963.

The same fireplace is shown in all the rest of these photos as it looked
in early 2008 with the Rotunda then having been taken down.
